How do I switch my puppy to eating dry food and why doesn’t he like drinking water?

I just recently adopted a 2 month yorkie and the owners I had purchased him from fed him Ceasar’s Filet Mignon which is wet food. I’ve heard that dry food helps a puppy grow stronger and gives them more nutrients than wet food. I’m afraid if I switch his food it will do him harm. How should I go about changing his food habits and about the water, how can I get him to start drinking his water?
