Who makes a high quality food specifically for overweight dogs?

Should I get him the low cal stuff or just feed him less of the good stuff? Will supermarket brand food put on weight more readily than the high quality food? He’s fussy with dry food but will eat the top quality stuff like Blue.

It is better to serve smaller portions and increase the dog’s daily exercise than to spend money on the so called diet dog foods.

For dog in proper condition that means if you underfeed they can become malnourished instead feed whats recommended for 90lb dog is due to 90 youd feed 25 less than the recommended for significantly decreasing the recommended amount of food change im not.

Iams and Purina both have ‘weight control’ dry foods;; but they won’t work like they should unless he gets LOTS of excercise. Also use toys or playtime as a reward instead of treats.

hahah koolness- blue was just what i was thinkin. but u dont necessarily have 2.
whats wrong with his weight??
ur gonna have 2 do some experimentin here.
try givin him less of what ur feedin him. if ur not givin him limits, ya better start limitin!!
cuz that REALLY effects it.
if u r, give him less. if he gets 2 lean, then thats not nutritional enough. cuz certain breeds, and other factors like activity level can effect the dog. like get something high in protein 4 an active dog, low in protein 4 a lazy dog.
if its not nutritional enough, cut down on cals, and look 4 more protein in things, this way he gets more of that instead of the fat!
good luck

royal canin makes a good line of foods, including weight control formulas.
I don’t use dry commercial foods, but many I know do and like this line of products.
